Many of our clients have previously tried waxing, shaving, epilating or IPL. Here’s how we explain the difference:

• Shaving – quick but daily, and can worsen ingrown hairs.

• Waxing – longer-lasting but painful and still temporary; hair must grow out between treatments.

• IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) – often used in beauty salons; can help but is generally less targeted and less powerful than medical-grade laser.

• Laser (Alex/Nd:YAG) – more precise, with energy specifically designed to target the hair follicle for longer-term reduction, usually in fewer, more effective sessions.

Most clients need around 6-8 sessions per area, depending on hormones, hair density and area treated. Hair grows in cycles, and laser can only target hairs in the active growth stage, so multiple visits are essential for best results.

Laser hair removal is best described as long-term hair reduction rather than 100% permanent removal. Many clients experience a dramatic, lasting reduction in hair growth, with only occasional maintenance sessions needed over time.

Most people find treatments very tolerable. You may feel a quick “elastic band snap” sensation and warmth. Everything is designed to make treatments as comfortable as possible, and we can adjust settings to suit your comfort level while keeping treatments effective.

Yes – that’s where Nd:YAG laser really comes into its own. It penetrates more deeply and is generally considered safer for darker skin types or tanned skin than many IPL systems. We still need to assess your skin in person and perform a patch test, but our technology is chosen specifically to treat a broad range of skin types safely.

Many clients notice a difference after the first couple of sessions, with hair growing back more slowly, finer and patchier. More visible, longer-term results build over the full course.
